The Portland Hospital is the only private hospital in London entirely dedicated to women and children and is also the largest private maternity hospital in the South East of England.
Each year more than 2,000 families choose to have their babies delivered at The Portland Hospital and we have a reputation for safety and clinical excellence, as well as providing a clean, comfortable and supportive environment for new families. We particularly pride ourselves on creating an MRSA-free environment.
All care is consultant-led with senior doctors such as Consultant Obstetricians, Gynaecologists and Paediatricians on hand throughout your pregnancy. We also have Resident Consultant Anaesthetists, Resident Medical Officers (RMO's) as well as a experienced nurses and midwives - typical care is a ratio of one midwife to four patients.
The Portland Hospital's Maternity Unit incorporates 5 delivery suites on the dedicated labour ward and 30 en-suite bedrooms across the two postnatal floors including 21 single bedrooms, 3 double bedded rooms, 2 deluxe rooms and 4 suites. In addition, two nurseries are available to provide assistance and advice in caring for your baby.
Unmatched by other private units, our maternity service is complemented by the full resource of our children's hospital including a special care baby unit and neonatal intensive care for babies born over 32 weeks gestation.
