At HCA we believe that all our patients should have access to the latest proven diagnostic and treatment technology. We have a reputation for ensuring that our hospitals and specialist centres are among the best equipped in the world.
From the latest and most powerful low dose scanners to the latest Da Vinci Si surgical robot to robotic radiotherapy machines such as CyberKnife and radiotherapy guidance machines such as Calypso - with it's GPS for the Body® system, HCA has frequently been first to install them.
Not only that but the latest diagnostic equipment has also been installed in our diagnostic and treatment centres - not just our main hospital - and this means many patients have the additional benefit of not have to travel so far.
X-ray films have become a thing of the past as HCA has all its imaging digitised and able to be assessed remotely by world class consultant radiologists. We have been pioneers in the use of voice recognition software that enables medical reports to be completed faster.
Our people have a culture of safety and cleanliness and we have partnered a unique laptop based cleanliness and safety audit system called e-Qit.
Throughout our group we have a continuous programme of long term investment in providing the latest technology and facilities. The telemetry on our intensive care units and operating theatres is the most advanced in medicine and apart from building new state of the art theatres, we have recently developed new hybrid treatment laboratories where low dose three dimensional imaging has transformed many complex procedures in cardiac care, certain liver operations and even in complex orthopaedic procedures involving the spine.
We have also jointly developed a pioneering cardiology telemedicine service where patients and their doctors can receive the results of an ECG test within minutes via a secure web connection - again speeding diagnosis and enabling treatment to begin almost immediately.
These are just a few of the many examples of how, at HCA we are always seeking new ways to bring the benefits of new technology our patients and their medical teams.
